Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! – Rocky Balboa

Shell Macpherson

Shell Macpherson

Vint Hill Boot Camp Coach

For many years, fitness and the outdoors (camping, hiking, kayaking) have been an important part of my life.  At first, I worked out at home with books and videos, then spent 12 years training in Kenpo Karate as a student and instructor.  The physical challenges, the excitement of competition, and camaraderie all made for a memorable experience.  During this time, I created and taught a class that combined cardio and karate moves (Karatecise).  In 2012 I discovered outdoor boot camp training, which was an excellent way to train for Spartan races.  As a member of RTB since 2013, I am continually inspired by the talent, heart, and dedication of our trainers.  I am excited for the opportunity to be a trainer for Vint Hill Boot Camp, RTB’s outdoor fitness group.
