CrossFit Intro Class
Are you new to CrossFit? This is where you learn about CrossFit and if it’s a fit for you. We will discuss the CrossFit program at Bull Run, what you can expect out of the program, and cover any specific questions you might have about getting started. We use this time to gauge the best approach for you to get started as quickly and safely as possible. All introduction classes are free but are by appointment only. Foundations introduces the athlete to the 9 basic, foundational movements. It is designed to prepare you to enter our ongoing group classes with an understanding (not a mastery) of what’s to come. We are going to be hammering on technique—both to ensure your safety and your success at the next level. Foundations consists of (6) 30 minute classes that are offered on a rolling schedule every Tuesday from 5:30pm – 6:00pm. You must sign up for classes online in advance. Everyone that is new to Bull Run CrossFit must complete the Foundations before being released into the general workouts. The only exception is if you are a current CrossFit Level 1 Certificate holder. Foundations classes are FREE as long as you’re a monthly BRCF member.
– We will introduce you to technique and mechanics first, then intensity.
– We will be showing you movements that begin with the relatively nontechnical and progressively more technical.
– There will be a workout at the end of each day which will get progressively more challenging.
The difficulty of these workouts is ultimately in your hands…the degree that you push yourself will determine how much suffering goes on. The class is called “On Ramp” for a specific reason…we want to ramp you up to the level of intensity and output that is inherent in our group classes.
Shifts in body composition are one of the most motivating ways to measure success. We highly encourage you to take “Before” pictures after your first Foundations class. Register early to ensure your place in the class, or if the next Foundations is not posted yet, email email@example.com.
Are you an experienced CrossFitter?
Think you’re already a CF Firebreather? If you have been CrossFitting for a while you can bypass the on-ramp program by either ‘testing out” or by providing proof of CrossFit Level 1 Certification. We won’t run you through proficiency program if you are able to successfully demonstrate proficiency in all 9 foundational Movements. Bypass program is available by appointment only.
